SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
BUILDING & GROUNDS
Handy with tools or with coordinating projects? Join the Buildings and Grounds committee to help preserve our 160+ year old historic building.

EPHIPHANY SOUP KITCHEN
The Epiphany Soup Kitchen (ESK) serves a hot meal to those in need every Saturday in the Great Hall. Now open for in-person dining, we always welcome volunteers!

USHERS
Our ushers greet people at the door, make sure everyone has what they need for worship, answer questions about what's happening or where to go, take the collection and present it at the altar. Ushers are the first people many of our visitors meet, and their untiring friendliness is a testament to the joy they take in what they do.

ACOLYTES
Acolytes accompany the clergy in carrying out the ceremonial of our worship. There are various parts to play: torch-bearers and the crucifer, thurifer, master of ceremonies, and the subdeacon, all to complement the functions of the ordained ministers, the deacon and celebrant.
We welcome children and youth to participate as acolytes. It can be a great introduction to the Church and the Christian life of faith, and it is always a lot of fun!

ALTAR GUILD
Help manage the altar and vestments, a special "quiet" ministry during the week

COFFEE HOUR
Want to keep your commitment to Sundays for now? Coffee hour after the 10am Service on Sunday is a time to enjoy one another's company over light refreshments and, in many ways, continues the work we started in church! This is a great occasion to greet visitors, share news, and make plans for the coming week. A rota of parishioners volunteers to make this happen: providing food, setting up the parish hall, and cleaning up afterwards.

CHOIR
The S. Stephen’s Schola Cantorum is one of the finest liturgical choirs in New England with a repertoire that spans 1000 years of liturgical music. We offer a robust schedule of musical services and events, including our annual service Lessons and Carols, Choral Evensong & Benediction, organ recitals, and orchestral masses.
If you are interested in auditioning for the choir, please email Choirmaster Graham Schultz at music@sstephens.org to set up an audition.

HOSPITALITY COMMITTEE
Have a flair for hosting? Volunteer to help with receptions after Evensongs and special masses. This group also organizes off-site events – museum visits, small in-home social gatherings, movie nights – to promote fellowship and to have plain old fun.
